This letter can be considered an example of a calm statement of prehistory and desires :)
I will shorten it a bit to remove my personal details (I was asked to remain anonymous):
... The cat lives with us for several days, the Cornish Rex breed.
This cute, shy girl got us from friends. Unfortunately she was not lucky with them and they did not get along. It turned out that, on the advice of the breeders, she was kept in the toilet for about a month, because she went to the toilet everywhere.
Here, she behaves very well-educated and noticeably worried, so that we did not refuse her.
She is agile, smart, delicate girl. She likes to run, she loves to climb and strive for height. Together with her we were given a complex, but it is small for her. She likes to lie on it in a hammock in the middle. It does not use the lower level, but it pulls up on the paws along the pole.
She loves to play hide-and-seek and catch-up, since we have a big apartment and there is a place to run.
Sedentary image from previous owners, makes itself felt. She gets tired quickly and is not a bit agile. But it is developing rapidly, because she is only 9 months old.
My husband would not really like to turn the apartment into a cat's house, but I would like her to be comfortable and she lived a full, mobile life. I liked the sports complex from the essay: "The cat house can be brutal ...". He is tall, with a big post on which she could climb and stretch (she really likes it). It has two beds, on the middle and high level. I would do a little bit more pads to prevent anything from happening.
I thought to place the complex in the hall, near the sideboard or in the office. In the cabin, the whole wall is free; one could add steps, though in the hall she likes more. Our ceiling height is 2.65 ...
Respectfully ... "
The story of the girl really touched me and really wanted to find the best solution for the baby.
In finding the optimal design, you need to start from something, you need a basic idea that you start to discuss and already in the process of discussion is the best option :)
The basis for the complex for the cat was "Brutal House" and the options began.
The situation was complicated by the fact that this room is almost 1500 kilometers away from me and I could only look at it through the eyes of the Customer’s camera :)
It was also necessary to take into account that the corner of the room is not straight, but blunt at 135 degrees.
There was an idea to mount a pillar next to the door, but personally I didn’t like this idea from the very beginning.
All the same, this is a man’s dwelling and koteikins of joy should not disturb the comfort and convenience of people.
A pillar in such proximity to the door would interfere with the passage.
In the photo it seems that the places are full, but in fact the distances are very small.
Here is a measurement drawing at my request was made:
That is, from the door jamb to the angle of only 55 cm, and from the corner to the cabinet - 80 cm ...
In such conditions, I didn’t like the idea of a column in this corner at all and, accordingly, the “Brutal Complex” as a prototype does not fit here ...
At some point during the discussion, the Customer agreed to remove the pillar from this corner and suggested using a hammock as the top element :)
The idea is excellent, but it is very important to give rigidity to the structure and fastening.
There would be a right angle - not a problem, but 135 degrees creates certain difficulties.
The load in this design is aimed at breaking, therefore, the load vector of fasteners must somehow be directed in different directions ...
This sketch of a hammock was born :)
In general, there were many different sketches.
When decision making and production take place remotely, and the situation is such that everything needs to be calculated to millimeters, you have to write many letters to each other, send pictures, sketches and drawings :)
I was delighted with the attentive approach of the customer.
When we were at the final stage of coordination, according to my drawings, all the elements were cut out of paper ...
and glued to the wall to see if the cat and people would be comfortable :)
I think, in especially difficult cases, when the geometry of space is not unequivocal or the product design is revolutionary, this is a great option to remove doubts.
Only now I would do it out of cardboard, because the cardboard retains its rigidity and the model can be made very naturalistic, although it takes a lot of time :)
The future user came to check what is happening.
Another unexpected plus of modeling - you can clearly see the scale :)
The girl’s hammock will be gorgeous ... :)
After coordinating the pictures, it remains the case for small things - to make all this beauty ...
... carefully pack each item ...
... make rigid shipping packaging ...
... and take the box to the shipping company.
After 3 days, the box at the addressee :)
I drew and described the entire assembly procedure and tried to simplify and minimize the actions.
The instruction was clear and accessible, but from my point of view, from the point of view of the author ...))
By myself I know, sometimes you look at the instructions for something and blink your eyes, not understanding, but people wrote it in full confidence that everything is OK ...)))
So I was worried, of course.
Although, in case of misunderstanding, you can always call me / write and ask something :)
A few days later a letter arrived:
"... So, the complex came on Friday morning, ordered delivery and lifting ...
Men were not, the box is well packed, I can not handle. That went around him until Saturday, and the cat tried to tear him.
Furniture makers came on Saturday and praised your work. Indeed, everything is very clear, beautiful, comfortable, thoughtful.
True, they did not find any screws or something there ... But you did your best. By simplicity of assembly and reasonableness, Ikea furniture reminded me. Thanks a lot! All at the highest level...
The cat was shocked! Manages to sleep even on the shelves. I liked the column, the correct diameter. Walks around it and sharpens from different sides and when lifting it is convenient.
Now we will make a hammock and a class ...
Here is such a story about a cat, whose life among some people did not begin simply and about other people who were ready for it a lot :)
I am sure that the cat will be fine in the new family :)
Unfortunately, I can not take more photos of the finished design and how the girl uses, I repeat, this room is almost 1500 kilometers away from me.
By the way, I am glad that our transport companies often work clearly and accurately :)
