I'm the happiest man!
I talk to people that adore animals, and there are no bad people between them :)
A puppy appears in the family where two cats live. The puppy is glorious, active and curious :)
Cats Pusya and Frosya come off the puppy’s desire to play on the settee, but it seems to me that it won’t continue for a long time :)
The puppy grows and goes to the dog’s training court.
So we had a task to create an individual space for cats where a grown up dog won’t have an access to :)
There are three shelves from IKEA in the hallway, that could be included in the system, and there is an arc from the hallway to the room.
I won’t bother you with the details of the installation process, I would like to come straight to the result :)
Pusya is a nice girl, she is a fidget and a scout :)
She left a rug with a heating and started to explore the novelty :)
She wasn’t very fortunate before she was brought to this bright house.
I won’t tell all the story of her appearance at this house (the owner will do it by himself if he wants to), I would like just to tell that she is very lucky to have people with a great heart, patience and love to animals.
In order to make a through traffic we made a curved shelf.
There are three different ways from the shelf:
- At the bottom-left corner of the photo you can see the passage where it’s possible to jump to the shelf from the reversal platform below and where it’s possible to go to one of the IKEA shelves;
- At the top-right corner there is a passage from the hallway stairs (where Pusya is ascending on the photo above);
- At the bottom-right corner you can see that it protrudes from the aperture, that allows to pass further to the IKEA shelves.
The top-left corner is deaf.
Girls liked the shelf at first sight :)
There is Pusya on the left and Frosya on the right.
The perspective makes wonders :)
To be honest, Pusya is twice smaller than Frosya, but the photo shows us everything vice versa :)
Nice kitties are very tolerant to owners’ passion for dogs :)
But what else could be? Especially now, when a lot is done for the cats’ safety and comfort :)
Outwardly it seems that the distance between the IKEA shelves and the curved shelf in the arc is rather huge, however cats don’t have any problems with it.
Pusya makes a gracious jump and Frosya just steps over it :)
Frosya started to explore the next shelves ))
There is a whole new world for the girls, as there was no chance to climb so high in the past.
There are sisal rugs with the overlock refinement by the edges at those horizontal surfaces.
Overlock is a rather expensive pleasure, but without it cats rip the edges with enthusiasm.
Higher surfaces, that won’t be ever seen, are covered by cheap carpeting with a rubber substrate.
(By the way, it has turned out that IKEA shelves have zero adhesion so it’s not possible to glue something to it. Maybe double-side scotch tape will be Ok).

Books that lye by the sides of shelves, play the role of the press while glueing the covering to the shelves.
As I've already metioned, I am sure that the covering must be there and it must be fixed strongly. This is very important for the cats' safety.
Everything could happen, a cat may stumble or be in hurry. That’s why the surface shouldn’t be slippery.
Now everybody has a viewing place in the timeless theatre, both owners and cats.
All the cat's feeding used to be at that circular tube in the bottom-left corner.
However, it turned out that it is rather cumbersome to use this stuff only as the stand for the bowl :)
Cats flatly refuse to climb and lie in the burrows as it was designed by the authors :)
It was planned that that this shelf would be used for big Frosya, but Pusya decided vice versa and started to steal the food of her friend :)
Frosya is a prideful girl, that's why she doesn't mind vicious habits…:)
After several weeks the additional element has appeared, which finished the design and composition of the construction :)
As for me, this sisal pillar and the shelf play the role of the icing on the cake.
It could exist without them, but it is much better within them! :)
Natural granite was used in the apartments design, so the task wasn't so easy.
We had to think not only about the construction itself, it was very important to save the stone while hanging it.
We reached it finally ))
The sisal pillar is made for sharpening claws and joyful climbing, it also could be used as stairs to the shelf with the bowl.
It is easy for everyone to climb up, except the small puppy :)

I like Maine Coons too. If I didn't give my heart to Orientals – we'd breeden Maine Coons :)
(If my wife would run the vacuum cleaner all over the apartment, of course)
The place for a bowl on this shelf is the same size as on the the previous construction, but now it doesn't encumber the passage and could be used as the intermediate platfrom for climbing/scratching :)
We could possibly make it a bit bigger, but, as for me, this is a more optimal length :)
Now two nice girls have an interesting construction to play at :)
I would like to emphasize, that the apartment's interior is pretty original and atmospherical. The owners have got used to it, of course, and don't notice, however, I liked it very much :)
I believe it's incorrect to cover someone's private life. Trust me, everything is stylish and cozy, that's why my task was to save that aesthetic comfort :)

In general, it is hard to live in the modern world, both for us and our pets.
Pets help us to live, and we try our best to beautify their life…:)
