The project attracted my attention from the very beginning.
Loving owners of a wonderful cat Fenya, who has active and lively character, decided to make a celebration and present the cat its own living space.
High ceilings, a wide corridor and the absence of the excess furniture made this creative process interesting and pleasant.
The material – polished plywood 18mm wide.
At first I make all the rough billets and only after I go forward.
The project was even more interesting because of some elements that were curvilinear in all three dimensions… :)
To support some of the decoration elements, that didn’t get into the frame (privacy is sacred!!!), the color of the cat’s furniture was chosen so deep. As for me, it’s very beautiful.
The elements of a climbing construction are still packed, lying discordantly, but ready to take their places… :)
The installation lasted long and was complicated by noise restrictions.
We were to change the habitual work process. However, all in all, everything ended luckily.
Fenya is beginning to learn her new cat’s furniture :)
Fenya is curious, that’s why she started learning as soon as the installation had ended :)
The architecture of this cats’ complex makes it possible to go up and down in a room, then through some passages and nests enter the corridor.
In a corridor there is a way, which leads to an ascent-descent element through our brand new curved shelf.
From the ascent-descent element by the transition shelf it is possible to enter the corner nest, and after it – further.
I believe, it will be a pleasure for my girl to use this nest, as it’s in the living room, it’s possible to lie at the top and observe the humans’ life :)
There is a large space between the wall and the nest. That’s why brackets are needed for the safety of mount.
Safety of cats and their owners is undoubted priority!
Fenya continues to learn her new cats’ furniture… :)
She needs to stop by the toilet while passing by…
There is no way further and it is uncomfortable for her, that’s why I’m sure, that she will climb there no more.
This element is made with a board. (Этот элемент сделан с бортиком).
A cat will sharply change the direction, and this is fraught with “drifts” :)
Especially when there is more than one user and they are catching-up each other.
Also, this corner might be used as a nest.
This turn is very curvilinear. It has a form of “S” and rounds a small prominent corner.
The board is needed here undoubtedly, even without a nest…
Further, Fenya enters her small “apartment”…
Every self-respecting cat needs its own apartment.
Cats need a place where it’s possible to reflect on eternal…
Especially it is comfortable, reflecting on eternal, watch humans’ activity through the windows :)
There is obviously nothing in common between a human’s house and a cat’s house.
For instance, the entrance door is on the roof :)
To lean out of the window and to check – “what can we see?” – for sure!
The exit? – Also through the “roof door” :)
If a cat doesn’t want to leave its cats’ furniture, you are able to open the front door :)
By the way, all large carpets in the nests can be unsticked (it is made for easy cleaning).
The carpets on the stairs and the passages can be unsticked by a human, but not by a cat.
The cats’ complex continues behind the house. And fun only begins…
In order to understand the scale of a construction – the shelf is 1m above the floor, the mirror is full-length, above the mirror there are stairs, which starts at 2m above the floor and ends at 2,3.
I consider that the customer’s solution to paint the bottom of this wavy shelf in a color of ceiling was quite successful.
It looks very graceful and elegant.
Fenya likes it so much… :)
After a small rest, my girl continued to learn her new construction :)
The long and interesting stairs, curved in two dimensions.
This element of a cats’ complex was especially interesting while designing.
I has always loved cases connected with a spatial thinking, and this element gave me a chance to use it :)
I’d like to add it was a bit tough to finish this part of the cats’ complex.
To prepare and install the elements at different angles wasn’t a kind of an easy stuff :)
Two parts of the stairs above and below the shelf look rather steep, nearly vertical and irresistible. However, it’s just a willful illusion.
It is possible to lead an imaginary line through the edges at the top of first steps so it will create the right angle of elevation, which is quite surmountable. And an illusion of the steepness is made by the difference of steps’ length :)
Fenya is demonstrating the possibility of a descent… :)
The shelf is checked – “it’s ok, we can move back” :)
You can put some pleasurable rags on the shelf and into the nests. It will be more enjoyable to lie there :)
The way back is also interesting.
It is always possible to see something new if to look at a different angle :)
The S-shaped shelf might be seen better from this place.
A cutie decided to descend where she ascented…:)
The flat interior made it possible to divide the complex into different zones. Cat’s furniture is “all in adults” :)
The cat’s canteen is painted with a beautiful yellow color.
By this color solution it is separated territorially and visually from the main cat’s space :)
Fenya can have now a convenient place to eat.
Personally I have always a wish to pet a cat, while feeding it. Unfortunately, it’s uncomfortable to stoop to the the floor. I think, you’ve understood me… :)
A climb with three steps leads to the cats’ canteen.
It seemed to me that the steps in a form of chair would combine harmoniously with a theme of a canteen :)
A rug can be unsticked to clean it easily in the case a girl won't eat accurately.
You may forever delete the rug if there are serious «problems with an accuracy». A layer of water-resistant paint on this surface is thick enough.
It's a good idea to have a lunch after such a trip…
Especially when loving owners have prepared something tasty…
“Thanks a lot, owners!” – Fenya thinks, I’m sure… :)
As for me… Rubbish, a vacuum cleaner and tools are waiting for me and the entrance door…
And a light feeling of regret – such an interesting project has finished :)
Special thanks to Anastasia and Ksenia for the pleasure of communication and understanding :)
And to my girl Fenya for welcoming, of course! :)
